Askam Construction Profile
John Lowery formed his company, Askam Construction Limited, in 1986, in order to fulfill
his first civil engineering project. Since then, the company has grown and changed considerably, now employing 86 full time
employees and managing projects for clients such as The Environment Agency, British Waterways and numerous projects for The
Bay Trust and Lancashire County Council.

The company prides itself in its dedication to training and developing their employees. We were the first construction
company in the North West to achieve the Investors in People status and actively encourage all their staff to reach their
full potential through ongoing training and education.
Askam is managed by a dedicated Board of Executive and Non-Executive Directors , with a balance between experience, knowledge
and enthusiasm.

Askam has an excellent health and safety record; every site based employee attends a first aid course and a safety awareness
course, ensuring a fundamental awareness of the importance of site safety. In addition, monitoring systems are in place and
frequent inspections and health and safety audits are carried out to ensure the company`s high standards are rigorously maintained.
